Link Directory SubmitterSubmitting your websites to directories is a great way to get valuable back links to your sites. Link Directory Submitter is the software tool I use.
One of the tools use for submitting my websites is Link Directory Submitter. This is a very simple desktop application, currently supporting submissions to over 2,700 directories, ranging from PR0 all the way up to PR8 in a wide range of niches and topics. This is a semi-automated submission software - you still have to manually choose the categories, but this is a plus. Other fully automated submission software I've tried in the past make a real mess of the categories. With the manual control over the categories, Link Directory Submitter makes a far superior job of getting the right categories and your websites are far more likely to be accepted by the various directories. In keeping with my standard policy, I don't recommend any software I don't own, so here's my own copy of Link Directory Submitter. The profile name is blanked out - I use keywords for my profile names...
This is from a run I did this morning (February 24th 2009) and resulted in 4 relevant directory submissions, 3 PR8's and a PR7. Not bad for 15 minutes work. I've always been good at testing stuff and analyzing results. It probably has something to do with the way my brain is wired, but it made me a very good living for 25 years, and is standing me in good stead in my online ventures. I actually like testing stuff....
I've found a lot of stuff that works, a lot of tactics and tips that generate a nice income for me and managed to find some nice tools to use.
